Can you spare a moment of your time? I am dealing with something tedious and am in need of advice from someone who won’t give into temptation and find humor in it.
[ At least he is mindful enough not to say: Hey Stolas, you are Hellborn and thus a deviant, maybe you can help me. ]
Your honesty is why I approached you in the first place.
Ignoring temptation.
[ There is a lengthy pause, where he tries to figure out how to carefully word his dilemma in a way that won’t come off as crass. ]
For several hours now, I can think of nothing else. Considering the thought never entered my mind before today, I can only assume this place has something to do with it.
[There might be a VERY long pause as Stolas tries to figure out how to word what he wants to say without sounding...too curious. IT'S HARD.]
I see. Forgive me but, while I have plenty of experience on both sides of temptation, it helps to know what kind of temptation you are facing. I would imagine as an angel of your status, you haven't faced much.
But, you are probably also correct. This place has something to do with it.
[ Fortunately, he has never been the shy sort, namely because he has never run into the issue before. This is a huge problem that requires sacrifice. ]
I have not faced it at all. The kind that will threaten hundreds of thousands of years of celibacy if I am not careful.
I thought about someone and my stomach lurched in an incredibly off-putting manner. If I can help it, I would rather it end. Trying to sleep it off resulted in vivid dreams I would rather not discuss.
If I have to fall on my sword to make that happen, then so be it.
[ Stolas doesn’t have to know he means that literally. ]
[He will not tease him about feeling Lust for the first time. He WILL NOT. He's also pretty sure Michael's serious about the sword thing.]
I see. Well, sleeping it off was definitely a mistake but, one anyone could make. Have you tried focusing more on work or other distractions. Sometimes I find that helpful.
Or you could try to think of someone that you find repulsive in place of the person you find attractive. I've found that kills the mood for me pretty quick. At the very least it might help until whatever is affecting you wears off.
[ This is why Stolas will get a holiday card and Ozzie will not. ]
I ran several miles, went to the gym, completed several crossword puzzles, finished my paperwork and readied a care package for Hell. I am running out of options.
Saying that I find him attractive is a bold assumption, Stolas. Can’t I admire the character of someone without wanting more? More often than not, and with the utmost respect in mind, I am left to wonder if he even has a fully functioning brain or if he is purposely being insufferable to spite me. Charming is a better adjatiave, I think. For all of his flaws, he is charming.
I believe it has more to do with the fact I have found someone relatable, who just so happens to be Hellbound. Remember — I told you once before, there was a time when I thought those of a demonic persuasion were irredeemable.
This has been informative, thank you, I will try that. I apologize for reaching out to you about this. It looks like you have come to my rescue twice now. I will not forget that.
In other words, you've already tried the distraction route and it did not work. Sometimes, that happens.
Despite it being a bold assumption, I think I might stand by it even if you are claiming that this individual is merely charming. Attraction can take many forms and don't always have to lead to sex.
And I remember. I'm still happy that you've reconsidered otherwise, we wouldn't get to have our chats. Besides, I'm happy to help. Hopefully whatever is affecting you will pass soon and my suggestion helps. If it doesn't then feel free to reach out to me again. Sometimes, you just need someone to assist you that you trust not to take advantage of the situation to distract you.
[ Stolas is the proud recipient of an elegant looking book and a set of mini galaxy lamps that have a note attached, written in an impossibly neat font.
The jacket didn’t count, you can consider this as my thanks for your advice if you would like. Happy Holidays, Stolas.
[It's a gift! From Husk! It's a big boxset containing all 58 seasons of one of this hell's telenovelas, all Blu-ray. Because apparently, CV-2000 tapes aren't a thing anymore.]
[While he's surprised by the gift, Stolas absolutely loves it. At some point around Christmas..Sinsmas...whatever you want to call this holiday, Husk will find a bottle of the best whiskey this Hell can provide with a ribbon and a note with Stolas's sigil for his signature.]
forward dated to mid-month. big bird daddy, you’re his only hope
